Unfortunately, encrypting password here will be not possible, due to password=$userpassword (not exact code) entry is hard coded for certain board. This means, plain text variable, must be present here, with user input, for password: password=password. Similar also goes, for other crucial board parameters, such as serial number, board name, factory firmware, etc.
During the default-configuration script execution, custom variable will be read by the board, and afterward configured on the device.
